Mpumy Ndlovu, a storyteller who started out as a young storyteller and as she grew into a woman, creatively used her storytelling as an actress, dancer, breaking through to telling stories on the radio, recently the ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF IMBIZA PERFORMING ARTS. She is a graceful, animated and articulate storyteller, capturing her audience with movement and sound.

We know her as THE ENERGISED, SPIRITUAL Mama Nomusa in South Africa, - currently based in Durban, SA. She is a global citizen who has performed all over the United States, Canada, East Africa, India, Cayman Islands and now South Africa, in a variety of venues including universities, libraries, schools, festivals etc.

 

Over the past decade as a professional storyteller, she has amassed a wealth of games, songs and stories that come from the vast reservoir of folk and contemporary stories which permeate the African continent, the Americas and the world. She encourages her audiences to interact with the performance making it a unique and unforgettable experience. This is enhanced by her use of an array of indigenous African instruments including the Mbira (African thumb piano), Shekere (a beaded gourd), Ngoma (wooden xylophone), bells, tambourines, drums, etc.
